Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft and gooey.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
