Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add in the eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft and gooey.
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
